My parents taught it to me and they’re both from the midwest. I think it’s a pretty common goofball greeting. I mean, it’s in the Double Dragon movie! How much more mainstream can you get???
I still don’t get it, Jay. Is the rhyme about eating chicken shit? What exactly is a “chicken butt” (besides an actual chicken’s butt)? What does calling someone a “chicken butt” imply / where does it fall on the grand spectrum of insults? Who eats chicken with a spoon? Who puts spoons anywhere near their butt? So many questions and too few answers! ;p
